Avenir Coil Combo Cable Locks (10mm / 6 feet)

This lock is not upto the mark in terms of security. My bicycle was stolen right from Office Bicycle shed!!!. Please bear in mind that this area is monitored 24 hrs by CCTV. I locked the bicycle as usual ensuring the lock covers both the front and rear wheel and secured to bicycle holder. On my return i saw that bicycle was gone and the lock was left broken on combination part ( it must have been broken with hammer or stone on actual combination part where the end of lock cable goes in.br /br /No hard feelings towards the company but the lock was not good enough and can't blame anyone can't expect full proof security from a 10$ lock.br /br /My advice spent some more money on a decent lock or if possible have two different type of locks (cable locks/ U locks/ chain locks)to ensure added security.br /br /br /
Lock stuck, easy to break off (2010-07-18) : 1/5
The lock stuck in an halfway-in position, locked and was unable to be opened. I got two locking wrenches and twisted the number dial in opposite directions and it broke in half. It doesn't seem like this would deter any would-be thief.

This is a very good lock -- easy to set combination, easy to lock up bike given how it is wound. Clips onto the bike from four different direction which is helpful when you have a water bottle on the bike. The only issue is getting the clamp that holds the lock securely fastened. The kit includes some inserts but my bike (Trek) could not use the slimmest one and without an insert, the clamp slides on the bike. I am STILL happy with the lock but better instructions and some advice on the clamp would have prevented a LOT of frustration and mangling of the screws to undo the the clamp once it was clear it was sliding around.

After having my new bike stolen, decided to test how resistant was the cable against cutting. Used a shear cutter that can fit in a regular backpack...br /br /Really sad and pissed off...br /br /DO NOT BUY
