Product Description:

Nerf N-Strike Longstrike CS-6 Dart Blaster

With this awesome, air-powered dart blaster, a “long shot” is a good thing! Measuring three feet long, this blaster is the longest NERF blaster yet and fires up to 35 feet. Attach the barrel extension for long-range targeting and use the tactical rails and flip-up sight to help you zero-in on targets near and far. Even when your target is on the move, you never have to worry about ammo, since your blaster can store two quick-reload clips! (One clip is included.) So grab your gear, steel your nerves and prepare to “go long”!  Ages 6 and up.

Looks can be deceiving (2010-07-28) : 1/5
As it says in the title looks can be deceiving this gun looks wicked awesome and felt awesome! but fired like the weakest nerf gun ever

Boys love it! (2010-07-25) : 4/5
The kids love Nerf gun and this is a nice addition to the collection. My son got it for his B-day and loved it!

Looks cool, but if you want range and accuracy buy a longshot (2010-06-29) : 2/5
It looks cool, and i used the barrel with a recon and a longshot and they look cool too. Cool doesn't matter though if it sucks. The reverse plunger has a short range, and the long barrel just ads more friction. My son took out the air restrictor and put in an internal powerstock, but the range still was poor. Finally he bought copper pipe and replaced the bolt and barrel, making it airtight. with all these mods it still gets 40-50 feet on average. Should of bought him another longshot.

Definitely overhyped. (2010-06-27) : 1/5
I got the nerf longstrike from target a couple days after it came out. i was so pumped to open it, and when i did, it looked awesome, very closely resembling the intervention from call of duty. Looks are everything, right? WRONG. I took out the ONLY clip in the package, along with the ONLY six darts it came with, and took a few test shots. None made it over fifteen feet. All of the shots were inconsistant, some falling out the barrel, and some rocketing off. As i dissembled it for return, i found out that you couldnt remove the butt stock or the cocking mechanism, making it impossible to fit back in the box. After jamming it in there, i returned it successfully and got my money back, opting for an ammo box of 100 streamline darts instead.br /Basically, dont waste your money.

Good looks but lacking performance (2010-06-18) : 1/5
I own several Nerf guns, and I've heard a fair share about the ones I don't own from friends. Before buying this one, I asked those friends about it and did some research on the web. The resounding response was that it by far one of the sexiest Nerf guns to date, but it performs TERRIBLY (due to the reverse plunger system). I was naive and told myself that they must've gotten lemon models and bought it anyway. 35 bucks wasted. This gun's range is about 30 feet if you angle in up at 45 degrees, and half that if you fire flat. That's horrendous. Why model a Nerf gun after a sniper rifle if it's going ot have less range than a Nerf Nitefinder (a tiny sidearm, for non-Nerfies)? Not to mention, the included barrel extension that earns the Longstrike the title of "Longest Nerf Gun" further decreases its range due to the extra friction on the dart.br /br /The iron sights for this gun are also apalling. The rear sight is a large circle with a tiny hole that the user is supposed to align with a narrow slit on the front end of the gun, or the front sight of the sight block itself. Not that it matters which one you choose to aim with -- the hole's too small ot see through, and the dart will most likely veer left or right anyway. Completely useless.br /br /br /br /It saddens me to see the shift from direct-plunger systems to reverse-plungers by Nerf, and I hope that they realize that it kills the entertainment factor of their products.br /br /For the sake of structure, I'll throw in the obligatory Pros/Cons listbr /br /Pros:br /- Looks amazingbr /- Textured digital camo patternbr /- Modular, interchangeable parts with other Nerf CS-6 productsbr /- Holds two magazines in the stockbr /- Stands up fairly well to punishmentbr /br /Cons:br /- Abysmal range (30 feet tops, 15 flat)br /- Included barrel extension will reduce range even more (if it fired any closer it'd be firing backwards)br /- Reverse plunger systembr /- Useless iron sightsbr /br /br /All in all, save your money. I ended up buying a Recon that shot much further, but I would still recommend getting a Longshot instead. More opportunity to mod, direct plunger system, almost perfect. Skip this jazzed-up garbage heap.
